Safdie is renowned for two other famous landmarks in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport. The magnificent white-marbled lobby of the hotel has a domed ceiling featuring gold-leaf.

The Singapore Edition is a redevelopment of the former Boulevard Hotel and is a joint venture between tycoon Kwek Leng Beng’s Hong Leong Holdings, Singapore-listed property group City Developments Limited (CDL) and Schrager’s Lea Investments. With a double frontage along Orchard Boulevard and Cuscaden Road, the freehold property is over 90% sold with an average price of $3,814 psf.

The interior design of the hotel is the collaborative work of Hong Kong based interior design firm Cap Atelier and Schrager himself. At the heart of the hotel sits a courtyard garden that leads to a series of event spaces. On the first floor is Fysh, the restaurant by renowned Australian chef Josh Niland, which also serves as a steakhouse. There is also the iconic Punch Room bar located adjacent to the restaurant.

The hotel features a 43m swimming pool and landscaped garden at its Roof bar, which also includes a transparent acrylic oculus offering a glimpse of the courtyard garden nine stories below.
