Accor hits 45,000 keys under extended stay portfolio

Lumina Grand Bukit Batok’s strategic location also makes it easy for motorists to access popular expressways such as the PIE and AYE.

Nestled within the well-planned infrastructure of Bukit Batok, Lumina Grand EC is served by an extensive bus network. These bus services guarantee that even places not served directly by the MRT are still effortlessly available. Residents can easily access a range of destinations, from a nearby mall to the outskirts of the city. In addition, the strategic location of Lumina Grand Bukit Batok makes it convenient for motorists to use popular expressways such as the PIE and AYE.

Accor, a global hospitality group, now has 45,000 keys across more than 380 extended stay properties worldwide. This portfolio includes serviced apartments and private rental properties spread across 14 brands. In a press release on October 24, the group claims to be the world’s largest player in the category outside of the United States, with a high concentration of properties in Europe and Asia.

“We are doing what we do best – leading the markets we are familiar with,” says Jean-Jacques Morin, Accor’s deputy CEO and CEO of its premium, midscale and economy division.

The growth of Accor’s extended stay segment is propelled by new openings for its Novotel Living brand. Examples include properties in Bangkok, Saigon, and Kazakhstan. In Singapore, Novotel Living Singapore Orchard opened in June 2022 and is a rebrand of the former 8 on Claymore Serviced Residences. Other recent openings include Pullman Living Dongguan Forum in China.

Meanwhile, Accor’s flagship aparthotel brand Adagio celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2023 with the opening of 11 new properties across five continents. Additionally, the group has more extended stay properties in the pipeline, including further expansions of the Novotel Living brand and luxury serviced apartment projects in Riyadh.

Morin comments, “Extended stay properties are in high demand globally, due to travellers seeking longer trips, mixing leisure and business, and exploring destinations more thoroughly.” He adds that Accor has an “unmatched portfolio” of extended stay brands that meets the needs of any traveller, including Mercure Living, Swissôtel Living, and Mövenpick Living. Other extended stay offerings are included in brands such as Fairmont, Sofitel, Mondrian, Hyde, and The Sebel – plus 33,000 private villas, apartments, and branded residences operated in rental programmes.
